A scene from Jay and Sam
The Sign Out
Jay stands in front of the TV with his hand on his hip and the other rubbing his chin, watching his son finish a racing game. Sam walks in with their youngest child, Stephanie.
Sam: What are you doing?
Jay: Whether or not Cory should sign out of his account.
Sam: Okay. I’ll bite. Why shouldn’t he?
Jay: The online services are down. So technically if he signs out I can’t log back in.
Sam: Understandable. But this isn’t the first time this happened.
Jay: (sighs) Women.
Sam: What was that for?
Jay: There’s a race that starts in an hour. If he logs out I won’t be able to join the other parties until who knows when.
Sam: Oh. True. (ponders) If the services are down then there will be no race, right?
Jay: (looks to the left, thinking) No. It’ll still be one.
Sam: Well, all right (sits on the couch).
Jay: You’re staying in here?
Sam: Yup. I’m a woman, remember? Show me this… (air quotes with her fingers) mainly race of yours.
Jay: (scoffs) You’ll see. Hand me the controller, Cory.
Cory: Okay. Hold on.
Jay: What are you doing? Wait. No.
Sam: He signed out his account, didn’t he?
Jay: (head down in defeat) Yeah.
